Is Your Ego Killing Your Business

If you do not let your ego go…your business will suffer.

Always remember it is not about you…be willing to serve
others and it will come back to you.

You must be willing to take the ego jacket off so you can
replace it with abundance!!

  1. I totally agree with your comments on the video Alice. I let my ego get in the way a long time ago and it kept me from succeeding. But once I pushed that aside and got over myself I have really taken off!!!

    1. Yes, we do have to get over ourselves and make it about others.

Thanks for stopping by Clint 🙂

  2. Hello Alice

I agree we need to leave our ego at home! That said I am choosy about the clients I take on, we don’t just take everyone and the reason for that is not everyone is a good fit for us…. or most other businesses for that matter. Business is more enjoyable when we have our ideal clients to work with.

    1. Yes the ideal client is what we all want, but at the same time we have to try and
be open and look at things from someone elses angle.

We never know who our next rock star is, sometimes it is the one that we think would
      never take off.

  3. Alice,
thanks so much for sharingall what you did here in regard the 3 letter word “EGO” that we so needed to hear and read.

YES< I agree with you 100%… unless we manage our ego.. not only it will kill our busines but everything else in life.

Why I say this? Because I am one of those people who did not know about the power of the ego and let ruin my life many times over and over .

Finally someone coem along in my life who was able to share with me what damage the ego can do and voila' I knew I need to managed if I was=nted to succeed or at list NOT bein controlled by the ego.

    Thanks once again.
    all the best .

    1. Your welcome Nick…the sneaky little ego, we have to keep an eye on it!

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  4. Ego, one name comes to mind (Bob Parson’s) the owner of GoDaddy. He has the biggest ego and started making decisions that the public hated. Remember the SOPA bill? It all has to do with his ego. I try not to have an ego, although I am passionate and stubborn in my ways. Remember that everyone’s views are equal.

  5. Alice,

No matter how “giving” we think we are, when it comes to marketing our work and our services, we often focus on who we are, how much we know, how good we think our product is, and we are letting our ego take over. People don’t really care how much you know until they know you care about them. When we let go of our ego, we can pay attention to what others really want and need – and then we can provide solutions to exactly what they are needing.

But it is not easy, that little old ego clings to us and returns to take over if we are not paying careful attention.

    Warmly,

  6. This is so true, Alice. The ego will keep us trapped in our past. And there is no way to live our lives in the present when we are trying to deal with the issues from our pasts.

We do need some self identity, but we surely don’t need the destructive power that the ego wants to stick us with. Thank you Alice for this excellent post.

  7. I get a lot of people who bring their ego in the door. I’ve been around in the blogging, WordPress, and design/ development communities online as a professional and have helped many who absolutely frustrate me. However, I try to keep my cool because it does no one any good.

Some of my toughest clients have been the most successful and keep coming back because every time I design or consult for them, it is taken to the next level where they want to be.

Those were tough to crack and they still have their ego, but after positive results after asking them to trust me, they have done so ever since.

    1. Wanting something our way is just how we are wired.

There comes a time when we have to say to ourselves…just
maybe we are not right and sit our ego down for a bit 🙂

      Thanks for sharing Nile

  8. Alice great list of books you have listed. I have read three and have noted the rest. I am a true Dani Johnson fan and attend a 1st Step to Success in Dallas 2010. When it comes to ego I have this saying that I picked up providing substance abuse counseling. “You can’t save your face and your butt too.” I tell you ego has blocked my glory for years and I am so grateful to have learned to dismiss it when it shows up.
