Fear Of Rejection And Attrition

Alice McCarthy

The number one thing that stops most new distributors from getting started in their business or kills their business is fear of rejection. No one likes to hear no.

This can be a paralyzing fear for many if we don’t educate our new team partners on what to say, what to do and what to expect right from the start.

The key is to keep it very simple. Have a system in place and teach your team how to use the system.

A good system consists of –

Knowing how to contact and invite.
Knowing how to present the business using tools.
Knowing how to use third party credibility.
Knowing how to effectively follow up.

And, then prepare your new team partner to expect to hear some nos and get some resistance from some. This is okay. This is normal. Everyone goes through this.

So did Thomas Edison.

When people know what to, how to do it and what to expect, that paralyzing fear is greatly reduced.

Never focus on the rejection or the people leaving…some will come back.

Bless them when they leave, we are all on a different path.

It is perfectly normal to want everyone to respond with a yes…but that is not going to happen, so accept that right now and you will be ok when they say no.

It is a mindset…you can get depressed when family and friends show no interest in what you have to offer, or when someone signs up with you and then disappears to another company or leaves the business all together…it is all part of the process my friend, accept and move on.

Just know from the get go most, will say no. Heck your Mom said no all the time and you made it through to an adult right? Get many nos and get to the top of your game.

Sometimes it is not easy to keep your mindset and productivity up…but there are some things you can do.

1. When you are on the verge of quitting, simply move on. Don’t dwell on it, just keep moving there are people out there just like you, go find them.

2. Never take things personally.

3. Always be aware of your thoughts, if negative, and we all have negative thoughts, stop it and change to positive thoughts…yes you can!
Always put on your happy face through every no and every person that moves on…you are that much closer to a yes, and to a life long business partner or customer.
